❓ Frequently asked questions
How do you play Pictionary Online?
One player is the Drawer and is secretly shown a word. They sketch it on the canvas while their team tries to guess it before the timer runs out. Teams alternate drawing and guessing until every player has had a turn as Drawer, then scores are tallied.
How many players can play Pictionary Online?
The game works with 2 to 12 players. The sweet spot is 4 to 6: enough guessers to create competition while keeping wait times short between drawing turns.
What drawing tools are available in Pictionary Online?
The digital canvas offers a colour picker, adjustable brush size, an eraser, an undo button, a fill-background tool, a save button and a clear-all button — so you can fix mistakes as you go.
Are there different difficulty levels?
Yes — choose from three word packs before you start: Family (easy everyday objects and animals), Party (funny and social situations) and Pro (tricky abstract concepts). Pick the pack that best suits your group.
Can Pictionary Online be played without a touch screen?
Yes — the canvas works with a mouse on desktop browsers as well as a finger or stylus on touch screens. Mobile devices tend to give the most natural drawing experience.

Whether you are hosting a house party or breaking the ice with colleagues, Impostor is impossible to put down.

📋 How to play
  1. 1Choose a mode — Similar Word (impostor gets a related word) or Blank (impostor gets nothing).
  2. 2Set the player count and optional names, then tap Deal Words.
  3. 3Pass the phone to each player in turn. Everyone else looks away while they hold to reveal their word.
  4. 4Once all players have seen their word, take turns giving one clue about what your word makes you think of — without saying the word itself.
  5. 5After discussion, vote for the player you think is the impostor. The correct word is revealed after the vote.

❓ Frequently asked questions
How do you play Impostor?
Every player is secretly given the same word — except one impostor who gets a related word (Similar mode) or nothing at all (Blank mode). Players take turns describing what their word makes them think of without saying it. After discussion the group votes on who they think is the impostor.
What is the difference between Similar Word and Blank mode?
In Similar Word mode the impostor gets a closely related word (e.g. everyone gets "Apple" and the impostor gets "Pear"), making it genuinely hard to spot them. In Blank mode the impostor has no word at all and must bluff entirely from context clues dropped by other players.
How many players can play Impostor?
Impostor works with 2 to 12 players. Four to six players is the sweet spot — enough voices to create doubt, but few enough that one suspicious answer stands out.
What happens if the group votes for the wrong person?
After voting the result is revealed: if the group chose the impostor, the group wins; if they chose an innocent player, the impostor wins. The correct word is then shown to everyone.
Can Impostor be played with children?
Yes — the word pairs are family-friendly and suitable from age 10 upward. The bluffing mechanic is simple enough for younger players while still being fun for adults.
Can you play Impostor with 2 players?
Yes. Impostor now supports 2 players for a fast bluffing duel, where one player secretly holds the impostor word and the other must work out who has it.
