Through questioning and cross-examination the group must identify the liar before the vote. ❓ Frequently asked questions
How do you play Alibi?
One player is secretly the Liar and receives no information about the crime scenario. All other players (the Crew) are shown the full crime details and a shared alibi. During the interrogation phase everyone is questioned, then the group votes on who they think is lying.
What is the difference between Rookie and Detective mode?
In Rookie mode the Liar is told what crime happened but must invent their own alibi. In Detective (blind liar) mode the Liar receives no information at all — not even the crime — and must improvise everything from scratch based on context clues.
How many players does Alibi need?
Alibi works with 2 to 12 players and is best enjoyed with 5 or 6. Smaller groups (3–4) can feel too easy for the Crew; larger groups (8+) give the Liar more cover in the crowd.
How does the voting work in Alibi?
After interrogation, each player votes once for who they think is the Liar by tapping a name. Votes are tallied in real time; if the most-voted player is the Liar, the Crew wins. If not, the Liar wins.
Can the same player be the Liar every round?
No — the Liar is chosen randomly by the app at the start of each new game, so everyone has an equal chance of being assigned the lying role across sessions.
Can you play Alibi with 2 players?
Yes. Alibi now supports 2 players for a quick head-to-head, with one Liar and one Crew member. It shines with 5 or 6, but 2 works for a fast round.
